Episode 73 – Those Little Things that Mean a Lot

Remember the childhood rhyme “For Want of a Nail”?

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.

For want of a shoe the horse was lost.

For want of a horse the rider was lost.

For want of a rider the battle was lost.

For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.

And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

Ignoring the fact that this rhyme doesn’t rhyme, the point those who introduced us to this little ditty wanted to make is that ignoring things that superficially appear to be insignificant can have grave consequences down the line. No doubt the reason this non rhyme has endured so long is because it’s still true today.
