Typically by the time I work with clients, they’ve already tried multiple methods and multiple variations of the same method to correct their animals’ problem behaviors. Sometimes they inherited or adopted and animal with these problems already established. Other times, the animals’ behavioral health deteriorated over time. Either way, all quick fixes are out.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, including thinking the unthinkable: changing the person or people who interact with the animal first. Like our animals with their entrenched problems, sometimes we don’t want to change either. But if the love of and commitment to the animal is there, then coming to grips with the seven human factors discussed in this podcast is a good place to start.
