Never heard of “dolittling”? That’s not surprising because I made it up to describe how most of us approach communicating with our dogs and cats. In the original series of books written by Huge Lofting, Dr. Dolittle had the ability to speak to animals in their own specific “languages”. But as the book made the transition from print to stage and film, any representation of animal communication became increasingly Disneyfied.
In spite of that though, animal communication is a hot topic among researchers. Not surprising, a lot of the basics are similar to those we use too. This week’s podcasts looks at some of these.
