From the time I was a little kid, I remember people asking me what my favorite holiday was. Back then if someone had told me a time would come when “Thanksgiving” would be the answer, I would have hooted, “You’re kidding! It’s the most boring holiday of them all!”
Thanksgiving used to be my least favorite because, aside from some token giving thanks, it also meant helping my mom prepare and clean up after a big meal in a hot kitchen with the rest of the females while the males watched football on television or lazed around. And for a while as I grew older, it meant doing more of the same. To me, that was about as likely to make me feel grateful as being forced to sit naked on a nest of fire ants.
But now I’m in a position to experience a different kind of Thanksgiving, one that elicits true feelings of gratitude. And it’s this new and improved holiday that’s the focus of this week’s podcast.

What a great take on a holiday that I’ve never fully appreciated.
Thanks for the insightful thoughts.
Love this, a great podcast for now, and to listen to and remember throughout the year.
