Language evolves just like everything else. Consequently, it shouldn’t surprise us when terms and adjectives used to describe behaviors in animals change. No harm, no foul as they say.
Boos’ fanciful diagnosis of “idiopathic feline photogenicity” creates no problems. But when questionable terminology applied to problem companion animal behaviors could have life-threatening consequences for the animal, then I think we need to take another look at it.
